Fire Hearth Construction

The Fire Hearth is the "heart" of many thatched Huts all over the world. These have been in continuous use since before time and are used as a long term stove still to this day. Using simple clay (adobe), wood ash, some rocks for forms, these can be built on ground level, or in wood boxes filled with dirt to raise them up to an easier to use height. They can be made indoors in your shelter or hut, or outdoors under a thatched roof for an open kitchen. Usually they are 2-3 burners, but can be made most any size. They are easy to maintain once properly built and will last for decades when built and cared for correctly.
